+ | Hi. I dont know if I am expressing this correctly. You split some of the WDSCi Tips into sub-pages, for which I offer thanks. I then split all the sections on the Tips into sub-pages. But I am not happy with the results. What I would like to see is the TOC of each sub-page automatically appear on the main page. I could manually put in links on the main page to each sub-page heading, (very tedious) and also tedious to maintain. I still may do this if there is not an easier way. Then a click on a TOC link would pull up the sub-page. Anyhow I am not expecting much can be done , but I ask the question just in case. [[User:FKOL|FKOL]] 20:00, 10 March 2008 (CDT)

+ | Hi. I think there is a question with how the 'wiki' attributes 'based on work'. For instance on the QTEMP page it says 'based on work by Mr Dolomite and Frank' but Buck was responsible for the page so I believe it should say 'based on work by Buck'. If you know I would appreciate your views on this issue. Thanks

+ | : Sorry to jump in here, but I've seen this asked before on other media wikis. It seems that the last person to edit is page is never listed in the ''based on work by'' section. Since Buck make the last change his name only appears under ''last changed by''. Should someone else change that page now, his name will move back to ''based on work by''. A small change to credits.php might be able to fix this. --[[User:NJR ZA|NJR ZA]] 15:00, 20 May 2008 (CDT)

Yeah, it can be an overdetailed listing, but IMHO it is an improvement over that tiny snippet of info in that "based on work by". Email me?
Could you email me at david (at) midrange.com?
I've got some questions for you.
Upgraded mediawiki
I upgraded to Mediawiki 1.8.2.
Let me know if you see any problems.
david
comments in stubs?
Any idea how to have a HTML comment included in a stub?
I would like to have the stub text excluded from the google adsense content scanning ... but the comments seem to be removed.
See http://wiki.midrange.com/index.php/Template:Stub

Mediawiki 1.9.0
Upgraded. Let me know if you see anything odd.
Uploads should be fixed now
.
$wgNamespacesWithSubpages[NS_TEMPLATE] = true;
Ok, made the change.
ParserFunctions Extension
Installed
Redirect...
I entered WDSCi in search and got a not found. When I entered WDSC I got "redirected"... Can you set up a redirect from WDSCi to WDSC?

Re: Redirects for WDSCi
Sounds good to me.
Is there any wikimedia access that you would find helpful that I could grant?
Re: Recent change counts
Green for positive numbers and red for negative?
Cite Extension installed
It would be helpful to have the Cite extension installed here. It makes doing footnotes/references/citations/whatever you want to call them easier, as it is done in a common way, with automagic links within the article
I've installed the Cite extension.
FWIW: In the future, it's better to email me directly instead of leaving a note on my Talk page.

32K Limit
I had a message pop up that the page I was editing, WDSC tips, was getting close to 32K and that I should consider splitting it up. Is this really a problem. How big can the wiki pages be. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by FKOL (talk • contribs). FKOL 20:00, 10 March 2008 (CDT)
Show TOC from sub-pages on Main Page, and link

Some questions. SMTP and Snippets and QTEMP
I sent Buck some questions. He suggests contact you. Can you have a look at the questions and let me know what you think please.
Hi. I think there is a question with how the 'wiki' attributes 'based on work'. For instance on the QTEMP page it says 'based on work by Mr Dolomite and Frank' but Buck was responsible for the page so I believe it should say 'based on work by Buck'. - No problem, thanks for the info. Yes, probably something in Special:Allmessages - PHP or another config file isn't quite right. Since everything posted on the wiki is released under the GNU Free Documentation License 1.2, it kind of belongs to "everyone". Large Wiki page Snippets
I tried to add some code I saw from Scott Klement to the Snippets, but it failed.
The Snippets is getting quite big. Should I start creating multiple pages for any new programs I want to put in the wiki. --FKOL 00:25, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
Upgraded
I upgraded the wiki to 1.16.0.
Let me know if you seen any problems.
