PRPQ is an IBM acronym which stands for Programming Request for Price Quote.
They are additional LPP-like software packages available from IBM, which may be no-charge items or may be chargeable.
The name has its history in the fact that customers were able to ask, and pay for, IBM to create specific tools, utilities or applications for the AS/400 environment. If these creations were marketable to other customers, IBM would make them available via a PRPQ.
