CISC is an acronym which stands for Complex Instruction Set Computer.
The basis of a CISC processor is that it has a relatively large set of highly functional instructions, while these instructions might operate relatively slowly, they perform a very large amount of work.
The model [information unknown] was the last CISC-based server and OS/400 V3R2 was the final operating system version which ran on it.
