Pruv is a reference to the IBM Pre- upgrade Verification Tool for i5/OS. It is a software tool which runs on a PC with Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows XP Home, or Windows XP Professional [1].
[It] runs on the Windows client and checks data on the System i server to ensure that all the necessary requirements are completed prior to an upgrade. The tool was developed to help ensure successful system upgrades. The tool determines if the V5R2+ system is ready to begin the upgrade process, and generates a report describing its findings and the recommended steps that should be taken prior to beginning the upgrade process. The tool does not perform any corrective actions. [1]
The software is a no-charge item, but requires an IBM ID to download. The file, pruv.zip
, is 46.2MB in size.
