SQE is an acronym for SQL Query Engine, which is one of two query handlers used by the Query Dispatcher to access the DB2 database. "SQE ... was first introduced with V5R2 of i5/OS."[1]
History
"With V6R1 DB2 for i5/OS, the transition of SQL workloads from Classic Query Engine (CQE) to the new SQL Query Engine (SQE) has been basically completed. So far, the SQE functionality has been delivered in six waves: [2]
- V5R2 GA
- Mid-V5R2 (Check APAR II13486)
- V5R3 GA
- mid-V5R3
- V5R4 GA
- V6R1 GA"
