CEC is an acronym for Central Electronics Complex. It "...contains the processors, memory, and I/O interfaces".[1]

Normally pronounced "keck", with a short "e", as in the combination of "kick" and "peck".

It may also be referred to as the "system unit", "processing unit", or "main tower".
