FUNLIB

FUNLIB was a games application package for IBM minicomputers of the 1970s and 1980s, specifically, the System/34 and the System/36. This application contained "ASCII art" (although technically the coding system was EBCDIC) as well as demonstration programs, card games, "space" games, other games, biorhythm charts, calendars, and poster-making tools.

FUNLIB followed the convention of shareware programming in that every S/3X shop seemed to have it, but it was not consistently updated. Some shops clearly had older "versions," and some had clearly integrated their own materials, which may or may not have been fun.

Distribution

FUNLIB was distributed on two 2-D 8" diskettes, which included a 500-block library and a fileset labelled TONUF which contained pictures.

There were a lot of pictures included with FUNLIB (sometimes these were distributed in a second diskette set called PICTURES.)
