Why create this Wiki when there is IBM i content on Wikipedia?

Simple really ... Wikipedia is a fine general reference... it has information about a lot of different topics ... but it only has a handful of articles on IBM i topics ... and can only scratch the surface.

This wiki is intended to be ONLY about IBM i topics ... if someone wants to do research on an IBM i topic, they can count on the MidrangeWiki to have the information they need ... without any distracting information that isn't relevant.

So if someone does a search on RPG ... they won't get information on Role Playing Games or Rocket Propelled Grenades ... just the various versions of Report Program Generator.

This wiki's goal is depth of information, not breadth.

Wiki Upgraded

2-Oct-2009

I upgraded the wiki software to MediaWiki 1.15.1 and installed the OpenID authentication extension. You can now use an OpenID provider (Google, Yahoo, Facebook, Wordpress, your own blog, etc) to login.

Please notify Brian or me if you notice any problems.
