:Have to agree with Buck on this one.  I know that much of what I have put on the wiki is stuff I use on a regular basis.  It's my virtual Post-It Note on the web for AS/400 info.  Sure, I will drop a shameless wiki-plug over on midrange-l from time to time and I hope that the info which gets distilled and summarized here helps out folx all over. And it is handy for when IBM changes their website and some tidbit goes away, usually at the most inopportune time.— MrDolomite • Talk 15:48, 3 September 2008 (CDT)

Hex Codes
I've added some example hex codes for use with the "query hex" and "set hex" commands (see "strange square symbols") but I am not certain that these example codes are the same for all international code pages or not. Can anyone with a non-english codepage verify these values?  PabloMotte , 27 November 2007 (CST)

I have updated the Tips with the bits that I found useful.

If you have some Tips please add them. I can try to make them pretty if you dont feel like formatting them.  I have also cross-linked tips to other Document Categories, so if you want to update or add entries in other categories I can put a crosslink in the Tips.

I am a bit concerned in that Tips is becoming an 'index' of sorts, and if there is a better way of indexing perhaps someone can show me the way. FKOL 20:01, 18 December 2007 (CST)

Based on work by MrDolomite I have split the tips into sub pages. I feel some usability is lost due to not being able to do a 'Find on this page' but due to a browser limit of 32K bytes per page (This was a Wiki message) I split the tips into subpages. Based on work set up by Starbuck5250.

Goodbye and thanks for all the fish

I have decided that I will no longer contribute to this wiki. FKOL 04:57, 2 September 2008 (CDT)

This wiki isn't for IBM...

...it's for us.

Even if you and I are the only two people who ever, ever visit this part of the wiki, having that information at our fingertips is better than not having it at all. I sometimes worry that I'm wasting my time, but when I go back and find something I couldn't easily find elsewhere, I know it was worth it to me.

Buck 12:09, 2 September 2008 (CDT)

Have to agree with Buck on this one.

You are welcome to add your tips

I have updated the Tips with the bits that I found useful. If you have some Tips please add them. I can try to make them pretty if you dont feel like formatting them. I have also cross-linked tips to other Document Categories, so if you want to update or add entries in other categories I can put a crosslink in the Tips. I am a bit concerned in that Tips is becoming an 'index' of sorts, and if there is a better way of indexing perhaps someone can show me the way. FKOL 20:01, 18 December 2007 (CST)

References

I have updated the Wiki WDSCI Tips to have references back to the archives. If I have made an error please correct it. I have not attempted to include references in the rest of the Wiki perhaps others may wish to do so if they feel it is warranted. FKOL 00:20, 27 January 2008 (CST)

Subpages Split

Based on work by MrDolomite I have split the tips into sub pages. I feel some usability is lost due to not being able to do a 'Find on this page' but due to a browser limit of 32K bytes per page (This was a Wiki message) I split the tips into subpages. FKOL 00:33, 5 March 2008 (CST)

Manual TOC

I have added a manual TOC. If you add a tip, please also add the link on the parent page. FKOL 19:21, 12 March 2008 (CDT)
