I think is inexact to argument that SQL in the System i (or iSeries) does have syntax differences from "standard" SQL. In fact, under V5R3 DB2 UDB (proper name-until IBM decides to change it :-) ) in the System i has more than 90% compliance with ANSI SQL. V5R4 extends this to a full 100%. The ONLY main DB in the market to do so.
