You can verify the version of Eclipse by looking at WDSC Help -> About. There is a text box describing WDSC and below that, a row of icons. The leftmost icon is for the Eclipse platform. Click that. WDSC is based on the open source development platform called Eclipse [1]. Eclipse is described as 'an open development platform comprised of extensible frameworks, tools and runtimes for building, deploying and managing software across the lifecycle.'
WDSC is implemented as Eclipse plugins. The WDSC plugins that make up any given version of WDSC are tied to a specific version of Eclipse.
