FCMU is an acronym for File Compare and Merge Utility, which comes with with ADTS/400.
See PDM Option 54.
- FCMU can perform a comparison on two or more source physical files and identify the differences.
- When synchronization of multiple versions of a source file is needed, the merge function can take the output of the compare, and integrate it into the base file automatically.
- This can also be done interactively through the split screen merge facility similar to the browse/copy split screen is SEU in PDM.
